In
May of 1924, Ercole Codichini, an Italian immigrant working as a
blacksmith for the Erie Railroad, purchased the property located
at 28 Pike Street in Port Jervis, New York, and called it the EC
Hotel. At that time, Port Jervis was a major transportation hub for the Erie Railroad and Ercole had a vision
inspiring him to cater to tourists and the
hard working people of his community. To assist in achieving his
dream, Ercole enlisted the help of his young son, Gino, who for the
next 50 years ensured his father's goals were achieved.
Today,
chef/owner Richard Codichini, his wife Mary, along with son John and
daughter Amanda, ensure that you enjoy the same principles Ercole set forth
more than 80 years ago: simply serve the best quality food and drink
at the most reasonable price.
